TCRSF Forms
Why TCRSF Forms (Forms 1, 1A, 1B, 1D, 1SV and Abstract) rather than just send ISEF Forms?
-
ISEF requires their forms be to filled out before experimentation. For a description of this requirement and dates, see
(ISEF) Forms Summary.
TCRSF has an agreement with ISEF that if TCRSF properly documents the prior review and approval, the student(s), adult sponsor, teacher, qualified scientist, etc. can
fill out the forms after the fact. This still requires the prior review and approval to exist. The forms just document that fact. The dates on the forms must be the
approval dates, not the dates the forms are filled out.
-
Electronic forms greatly reduces the error rate in the forms submitted.
By entering the information once in the TCRSF registration process, It is accurately reflected in all the electronic forms.
-
Form 1 can be electronically verified. The dates on the other forms can be electronically verified. TCRSF enters the dates of the other paper forms as their are received.
This is then verified against the dates in the electronic forms.
The ability to have the computer automatically verify the proper check
boxes that were selected in the Form 1 has greatly reduced the error rate in forms submission.
-
Disqualifications in advanced competitions is greatly reduced by having automatic electronic forms verification. Inconsistencies between forms leads the SRC committee
of advanced competitions to question whether proper review and safety were followed. Projects have been disqualified because of those questions.
-
TCRSF can submit electronic forms to advanced competitions without having to scan them. This is a great time saver for TCRSF. Only the prior review forms (Forms 1C, 2,
and higher) need to be scanned by TCRSF.
What are forms 1D and 1SV?
Form 1D is the parent / legal guardian permission form for the student to attend the fair. Form 1SV provides documentation regarding how the electronic signatures were
applied to the electronic forms. These are specific to the local fair and are not included in the ISEF forms packages. ISEF uses other methods for the
parent / legal guardian permission form and signature verifications.
What electronic forms need manual signatures?
TCRSF partially fills out the Form 1B and Form 1D (the permission form for the fair) for the student(s) and parent / legal guardian to sign. These must be mailed to TCRSF
to complete that portion of the registration process.
Where are the Form 1B and Form 1D?
These forms are available in either of 2 places:
- From the student home page that is available after either completing registration or the student logging into the system
